SEE IT,
TOUCH IT,
PERCEIVE IT

Explore diverse ways of seeing the world, designed for accessibility and inclusivity, considering visual impairments. The legible typeface is paired with braille inside and on the durable plastic jacket. The 240 pages are hand-bound with open coptic stitching, featuring a minimalistic white cover with a letter-pressed title.

Seeing is a broad concept, both technical and philosophical. This book explores various ways of seeing and perceiving the world around us.

The choice of the different stocks of paper through out the book is used both for its functionality and aesthetic, the transparent pages are used for educational examples and thinner paper is used in signatures with extra folios to make it possible to fold. The thicker paper that runs through the majority of the book was chosen as its paper weight is similar to braille paper.

Certain sections of this book are printed on Transclear White 110gsm and Munken Print Cream Vol 15 100gsm papers while majority of the book is printed on a thicker Munken Pure Rough Cream 150gsm paper, chosen for its similarity in weigh to a paper used for hand-written braille. The typeface used is Atkinson Hyperlegible in 17pt regular font, 20pt leading and 8 tracking. A typeface created in partnership with the Braille Institute. It has been developed specifically to increase legibility for readers with low vision, and to improve comprehension for people with a vision impairment.

The body of the book was printed by Plus Print, Co. Dublin.

The book cover was printed in the Distillers Press, NCAD with the help of Jamie Murphy on Fabriano Watercolour
300gsm paper.

This book was shortlisted in the British Book Design and Production Awards 2023 under the Best Student Book category.

Dublin Marathon
2024 Finisher's
Medal Concept

Medal design for the Dublin Marathon sponsored by Irish Life inspired by the majestic waves of the Irish Sea and the dynamic shape and energy of the River Liffey flowing through the heart of Dublin city. Teamwork with Mikah Smillie.

Rooted in the idea that runners, much like the forces of nature, require a combination of resilience, strength and power to successfully complete the marathon. The undulating patterns and fluid lines on the medal mirror the rhythmic cadence of the sea, symbolising the ebb and flow of the race whilst giving a nod to the geographical beauty of the event location. Each participant, like the waves and the river, contributes to the collective energy and dynamism of the race, turning the tides of challenge into waves of triumph.

The National
Print Museum

A letterpress poster underlining a symptom of the anthropocene. The microplastics in the human body. Teamwork with Isabel Duignan.

The process took many conversations; the final one lead us to ambiguity and subtlety of how this 'symptom' appears in our food, our water, our life, we harnessed it and pushed it to closely emphasize the problem.
